IRQHACK64 Cartridge for Commodore 64 – including SD card with games & software

Turn your Commodore 64 into a lightning-fast system for loading thousands of games and programs with the IRQHACK64 Cartridge.

The IRQHACK64 features an Arduino Pro Mini in TURBO mode and has an SD card slot on the back. You can easily place PRG files on the SD card via your PC or laptop, insert the cartridge into your C64, and then directly select which program or game you want to start from a clear menu.

SD card included

The cartridge comes with a prepared SD card, which includes:

• IRQHACK64 menu
• Keybooter files
• Collection of PRG files
• Collection of compatible CRT files
• Sample layout to get you started immediately

You can then fully customize the contents via your PC or laptop.

More than 10,000 games and programs possible

PRG files can be neatly organized into different folders on the SD card. This allows you to build a very large personal collection, for example, with more than 10,000 games, demos, utilities, and other C64 programs.

You are not tied to a fixed collection: adding, removing, or reorganizing files is easily done on the SD card.

Super-fast loading

The IRQHACK64 uses the Arduino module on the cartridge to load PRG files very quickly. This means you don't have to wait for the traditional loading times of a disk drive.

No hassle with floppies: select the desired program from the menu and start loading.

Create your own game cartridge

A particularly useful feature is that you can save a loaded program as the default program for the IRQHACK64.

Method:

1. Select and load a game via the IRQHACK64 menu.
2. After loading, press and hold the reset button for approximately 2 to 5 seconds.
3. The next time you start up, this program can be loaded directly via the IRQHACK64, without first using the menu.

This effectively allows you to turn the IRQHACK64 into your own programmable game cartridge.

Want to return to the normal menu? Just press the reset button.

Keybooter: launch games with keys 0 to 9

The IRQHACK64 also supports a convenient Keybooter function.

Files can be placed in the root directory of the SD card with the names:

0.prg
1.prg
2.prg
3.prg
...
9.prg

The Keybooter appears during startup. For example, press 4 on your Commodore 64 keyboard and 4.prg will load directly.

Example:

You have the game:

HERO.PRG

Copy this file to the root of the SD card and rename it to:

4.prg

Then start the C64 with the IRQHACK64. As soon as the Keybooter appears, press 4 and HERO will load directly.

This way, you can link up to ten favorite games or programs to keys 0 to 9.

Don't want to use Quick Select? Press reset during the Keybooter and the normal IRQHACK64 menu will reappear.

The IRQHACK64 is primarily intended for:

• Commodore 64 PRG files
• Games
• Demos
• Utilities
• Self-made BASIC and machine code programs
• A selection of small CRT files

Please note: support for CRT files is limited. The IRQHACK64 can primarily load small 8 KB CRT files and is not a complete replacement for cartridges that support all CRT formats.

Easily expand yourself

Adding new games is simple:

SD card out of the cartridge → into PC/laptop → copy PRG files → reinsert SD card → play.

You can create your own folders and thus create collections such as:

• Adventure
• Shoot 'em up
• Sport
• Demos
• Utilities
• Favorites

This allows you to organize the cartridge entirely to your liking.
